Schedule: FT

Shift : Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 8:00 – 5:30pm.

The community you’ll be caring for:

· AdventHealth Kissimmee is a 242-bed community-focused hospital

· Conveniently located near Walt Disney World

· The team is here is dedicated to bringing mission-focused, faith-based care to residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties

· AdventHealth Kissimmee has recently expanded our existing tower by 3-floors and 80-beds, including new ancillary spaces such as Inpatient Rehab, Inpatient Dialysis, Laboratory, and Imaging services.

The role you’ll contribute:

Conducts occupational therapy under the supervision of an occupational therapist.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Implements a treatment plan of care established by an Occupational Therapist utilizing Practice Standards and recommended techniques, insurance guidelines and patient's needs.

•Monitors patient response and progress to treatment and communicates with the Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plan as appropriate

•Documents and Charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department /hospital policy and procedures

•Educates patients, family members, and caregivers about identified needs and including discharge recommendations

•May provide discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and follow-up services

•As appropriate communicates effectively with patients, family and health care professionals within and across care settings and communities

•May oversee the care provided by therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards

•Meets productivity standard as defined by department

•Attends department meetings and education as required

•Practices principles of professional development and performance improvement by maintaining clinical knowledge, using best and/or evidence-based practices, supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department, and serving as a clinical instructor

•Willingly adjust and adapt to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers, programs as needed, approved and observed by manager

•Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director.

•Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

•Entry level competency of occupational therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications as defined in competency department policies

•Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

•Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

•Licensed in applicable state as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

•Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
